Lightweight phenom Ryan Garcia is all set to prove his mettle in a sensational showdown against WBA (Regular) lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. However, he has had to face his share of doubters, including Hollywood superstar, Denzel Washington, and boxing legend, Mike Tyson. Meanwhile, it looks like Garcia has a special message for both Tyson and Washington ahead of the fight.

Tyson was hosting the latest episode of the Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast, where Garcia was present as a guest. Moreover, Sebastian Joseph-Day was the co-host for the episode. The trio was seen delving into Garcia’s life and, most importantly, his upcoming fight.

Ryan Garcia plans to give a worthy answer after his fight

In conversation, Garcia mentioned that it was his time to prove his mettle to his doubters. And also revealed that the boxing fraternity has been considering him an underdog. He mentioned, “It’s the oldest tale of time. Don’t judge a book by its cover. They don’t think I have it. This is my moment. If you look at him in his eyes, I’m going to be prepared for this moment. I’ve been calling for this moment. I’ve been asking for this moment.”

Garcia further went on to point out the fact that Tyson and Washington had picked ‘Tank’ Davis as the winner of the fight. He added, “I’m ready. I just want to let you know, I just want to let the world know. After I beat him, I’m screaming out your name. I’m screaming out everybody’s name. I told you Tyson, told you Denzel. Just wait, I’m focused right now.” It sure seems like Garcia is waiting to prove his doubters wrong with his performance.

As the fight date approaches, there have been speculations that ‘Tank’ Davis is a favorite among many members of the boxing fraternity and fans. This speculation was further fueled when Tyson and Washington picked Davis over Garcia.

A video started doing rounds of a conversation between Washington and Davis at the Los Angeles Lakers vs New York Knicks game. The pair who met at the court-side were seen discussing Davis’ upcoming fight. Moreover, when Garcia was named as the opponent, Washington waved his hand while dismissing him as an easy opponent. Similarly, Tyson had also predicted Davis to win this fight.
