Shakur Stevenson Accuses Rapper of ‘Ducking’ Him

Shakur Stevenson is regarded as one of the best young talents in the sport who flaunts an undefeated boxing record. After winning world championships in the featherweight and super featherweight divisions, the 25-year-old made the switch to the lightweight division. He made his debut in the division this year, winning his first bout against Shuichiro Yoshino in April. There is no doubt in the fact that he is one of the best professional boxers in the sport. Alongside his boxing career, Stevenson boasts a lively personality outside the boxing ring. And doesn’t hesitate to share his thoughts and opinions.

Stevenson made an appearance at the Devin Haney vs. Vasyl Lomachenko undisputed fight. Recently, he made a bold claim about a rapper avoiding him at the fight.

A Rapper was “ducking” Shakur Stevenson

Stevenson took to Instagram to reshare a video posted by rapper, GillieDaKing. The video was of the interaction between the two at the Haney vs Lomachenko fight. Sharing the video, the 25-year-old made a bold claim about the rapper ‘ducking’ him at the undisputed title fight.

The video showed the former champion talking to someone else. And as he notices the rapper, he walks up to him and hugs him and another of their mutual friend. The caption of the video reads, “Neph @shakurstevenson talkin bout he got sum rounds 4 me don’t he know Dey call me GilNelo Alvarez.” It seems like the former champion has a cool nickname for the rapper based on the reigning undisputed champion, Canelo Alvarez.

Resharing this video posted by the rapper, Stevenson wrote, “Gillie was ducking me when the fight ended.” It seems like the two had fun together interacting with each other at the fight. Stevenson recently remained brutally honest about one of his worst sparring sessions.

Who will Stevenson fight next?

Ever since the 25-year-old made his debut in the lightweight division, boxing fans are eager for the former champion’s return to the boxing ring as a lightweight. Stevenson has been open about his eagerness to get a chance at Devin Haney’s undisputed titles. And the fans can expect this fight to happen. There are many other potential opponents for the 25-year-old, including Gervonta Davis. It will be interesting to see who Stevenson fights next.
