Following a successful 2020 with two wins, undefeated Shakur Stevenson has some bigger plans this year. He envisions himself fighting twice or more, touting the best matchups available in the division for himself.
The former featherweight champion seems to have set his sight on the super featherweight title. While there are several more undefeated champions present in the division, Stevenson has gone straight after them. He has connected with Brian Custer to reveal several ongoing aspects of his boxing career, inclusive of an update on his nearing plans. When asked about his next appearances, ‘Fearless’ gave a straight answer.

“Yeah, I see twice this year if not three times. If I can fight three times, I will,” said Shakur Stevenson.
Meanwhile, he has aimed at the top-dogs of the division and has billed Oscar Valdez and Carl Frampton as his possible options. Although both the boxers have more experience than Stevenson, that still didn’t intimidate the ‘Fearless’.
Speaking on it, he added, “Realistically, I see a fight for, probably I don’t know, probably like a Toner fight or something and then Valdez, or Frampton, Herring this year. Realistically, it should be right after that I fight, whichever one. I don’t need any in-between fight. I will go straight after Valdez, to Frampton, or whoever.”
Newly crowned WBC super featherweight champion, Oscar Valdez, is on a meteoric run and looks invincible at this stage. Akin to Stevenson, he is also unbeaten and holds a record of 29-0 with 23 KOs under his belt. Meanwhile, Carl Frampton, 28-2, will face Jamel Herring for the WBO title in April. So Shakur Stevenson seems to have targeted the right ones in the division.

In May last year, Stevenson notched a sensational win against Felix Caraballo with a Knockout. Turning himself 14-0 on Pro, it was a lopsided dominance coming from the 23-year-old. After overpowering his opponent for the first five rounds, Shakur Stevenson closed the show with a brutal body shot in round six.
He returned to action in December and unleashed a tactical performance against Toka Kahn Clary. Going till the final bell, Stevenson dominated Clary for most of the fight, and despite facing some minor problems, it was Stevenson’s night rightfully.
