The highly anticipated Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero showdown will take place at the Barclays Center in New York on May 28. Meanwhile, former unified world lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez revealed that he is willing to place a USD 100,000 bet on Romero.

Lopez was talking to FightHype. In conversation, the reporter asked him about the upcoming Davis vs Romero showdown. Lopez responded by saying, “Shoutout to both guys putting it on the line. And, congratulations to Rolando Romero man. I think he really does deserve it. You know Rolly’s definitely with somebody that really was shooting for that you know and doesn’t care.”

He was also sure to point out the differences between both the fighters. Lopez said, “Rolando is a puncher, real heavy puncher, especially in my division. He’s a big puncher, and so is Tank Davis. But, Tank Davis has yet to face someone like that, that’s a natural 135 power.”

Moreover, he also revealed who he will be betting on. Lopez mentioned, “I’m putting a hundred thousand on Rolly. Yeah I’m putting a hundred thousand dollars on Rolando Romero.”

However, Lopez agreed that Davis is a strong and solitary fighter, who is stylistically immaculate. But, he felt that Davis’ carelessness might cost him his title.
