Terence Crawford not only won his last contest but also the hearts of the people in Omaha, Nebraska. The 35-year-old faced his biggest rival, Errol Spence Jr. on July 29 in the fighting capital of the world, Las Vegas. The boxing world was interested in this match-up for years. Both welterweights were undefeated and class apart from other fighters in their division. A substantial section of the boxing world thought that the match-up will be a game of inches.
However, it was far from a competitive fight. Crawford showcased a dominant performance inside the squared circle. In the fight, ‘Bud’ knocked down Spence Jr. three times before the referee eventually ended the fight in the ninth round in what can only be described as a one-sided beatdown. Not only did he win this anticipated clash but also got crowned as the undisputed welterweight champion. In addition, he is the first ever boxer to be crowned as the undisputed champion in two weight divisions.
His victory has captivated his fans all around but particularly from his hometown of Omaha. A few weeks after the fight, the undisputed welterweight champion had his homecoming parade. The fans came out in great numbers to show their affection and pride. In the meantime, the boxing world took notice of his victory parade and was quick to make their reactions public.

He absolutely deserves this, but it’s crazy how 1 fight has now turned him into a mega star. Like that fight was truly a legacy fight. Was one of the all time greats prior, but that win catapulted him into super stardom. That was really the definition of a high stakes legacy…
