Terence Crawford Looking to Make a Statement Against Shawn Porter

Terence Crawford now finally has his shot at proving his worth to the world as a welterweight. Starting off with securing ‘The Ring’ lightweight title, ‘Bud’ later moved on to unify light-welterweight and is now the WBO welterweight champion. Despite being a champion, many still doubt his competence at 147 lbs.
November 20 will allow Crawford to show why he is currently the best in the welterweight division. Shawn Porter, by no means, is an easy opponent. Before facing Errol Spence in 2019, Porter was the WBC welterweight champion; so, the former champ knows exactly what it takes to go head-to-head in high stake fights.

Terence Crawford believes Shawn Porter is one of the final missing pieces of the welterweight puzzle. He thinks with a win over the former champion, he can’t be denied the tag of the best welterweight in boxing.
“They’re going to understand why certain fights haven’t manifested and come to fruition. I’m that good. Everything I’ve done, the question is always well, what about welterweight? Welterweight this or welterweight that.
“This is one of the top welterweights that I am facing, this is my time to show the world who Terence Crawford really is in the welterweight division,” said Crawford.
Terence Crawford admits Shawn Porter is a tough challenge but not the toughest
‘Bud’ Crawford truly believes Shawn Porter could be the toughest challenge of his career. He sees a complete package in his opponent; Porter has fought some of the best welterweights except Manny Pacquiao, has been a WBC champion in the division, and has the right set of skills and techniques as well.
“On paper, it is my toughest test. Shawn Porter has been in the ring with all the champions in the welterweight division except Manny Pacquiao.

“He does have a lot of experience. Shawn Porter does have talent, skills, and he’s gonna come to fight on November 20,” said Terence Crawford.
While he feels Shawn Porter is a tough challenge, Crawford still does not think this is the biggest fight in the division. He sees Keith Thurman and Yordenis Ugas as bigger or equally big fights.

“It’s definitely one of ‘em. But you still got fighters out there like Keith Thurman and [Yordenis] Ugas and these younger fighters that are coming up in the division.
“But I don’t believe Porter is the only welterweight out there that I can showcase my talent at a high level with. I believe Keith Thurman is a bigger fight, in my eyes, but Keith Thurman’s doing whatever he’s doing,“ said Crawford.
If Crawford defeats Porter in November, do you think Keith Thurman could be next in line?
