A welterweight showdown between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. would fascinate several boxing fans at this stage, but Crawford has recently expressed his dissent over the fight. Despite making absolute sense, the matchup is still up in the air with no official confirmation.
However, WBC and IBF champion Errol Spence Jr. is still optimistic about accepting the challenge. He hasn’t revealed any official developments to the matchup, but has pointed out his desire in going against WBO title-holder, Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford.

He was spotted live at the Dickies Arena, relishing the recent Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs Maurice Hooker clash. In the aftermath, the media asked him about the fight and Ortiz Jr’s performance. In response, ‘The Truth’ said, “He (Vergil Ortiz Jr.) did good.”
Meanwhile, he also reflected opinion on the possible clash against Crawford. While there’s a very minimal lifeline present in the battle, Spence Jr. expanded the chances to a certain extent.
He said, “It’s gonna happen (Crawford vs Spence Jr.), I guess, I don’t know.”

Both Crawford and Spence Jr. are currently the champions at 147 lbs and are unbeaten in their professional careers. They are also active in the line with recent wins against Kell Brook and Danny Garcia on their respective returns. So, it sets the stage for them to collide.
Meanwhile, ‘Bud’ Crawford recently had a minor dispute with his promoters and can soon opt for free agency. He is still under the Top Rank banner and there is no clarity on whether he will stay or leave.
