Caleb Plant will have to offer something impressive to get an upset win against Canelo Alvarez on November 6 in Las Vegas. Despite being unbeaten, Plant appears as the underdog against Alvarez in the first-ever four-belt 168 lbs unification fight, which will be a historic affair in the sport. The P4P King looks extremely stoked for his last fight of the year, having secured 2 wins in 2 fights already.

Meanwhile, welterweight champion Terence Crawford has some plans that can benefit Plant in the ring. ‘Bud’ believes, Plant shall beat Alvarez if he avoids a few tactics, and has also asked him to do what Gennady Golovkin had done in his original clash against Canelo Alvarez.

In a chat with Fight HUB TV, Terence Crawford said, “It’s going to be a good fight. I am excited to see. I am excited to see how Caleb Plant does. You know, if he come in there and stand in front of Canelo, I think that would be a bad game plan. I think you know he should utilize his skills and look at the GGG first fight. And take bits and pieces from that fight and put it in his arsenal.”

The first collision between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez was a super-fight between two undefeated kingpins (then) of the 160 lbs division. It lived up to the hype as both men unleashed a 12-round boxing clinic, weeks after the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather fight. Judges scored the fight as a draw. But several people saw Golovkin as the winner as he dominated much of the bout. Per Crawford, Caleb Plant shall try to replicate the same against his Mexican rival.

Can Caleb Plant vanquish Canelo Alvarez?

‘Sweet Hands’ Plant may seem like the underdog on paper. But the reality is, things could go his way if he makes the right decisions. Akin to Golovkin, Erislandy Lara also exposed a few flaws in Alvarez’s game. Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather actually vanquished the P4P king back in 2013. Although Alvarez has evolved from that phase, Plant can still use those fights as a blueprint for his success story.
