“This a Easy Knock Out”: David Benavidez Reacts to Jaime Munguia’s Stoppage-Win Over John Ryder

Jaime Munguia just stopped John Ryder with a 9th-round TKO victory. After Ryder was knocked down twice, Munguia occupied the center of the ring. With his guard on, Jaime then leaned in with his punches. As Ryder neared a corner, Munguia hit the former with a body shot. And as soon as Ryder moved to his left, Munguia hit him with a powerful overhand-right.
Although Ryder got up from the hit, Munguia put him down with another body shot. Even though Ryder refused to give up, the bell was rung to his rescue. At this, following Munguia’s 43rd professional win, David Benavidez reacted to the outcome of John vs. Jaime.

Tyson Fury
Oleksandr Usyk
After his stunning win against Caleb Plant in March last year, David Benavidez revealed that his team was pursuing a fight with Jaime Munguia. However, just when the match was nearly finalized, Benavidez regretted that Munguia and his team “backed out“. Eventually, Munguia faced Sergiy Derevyanchenko and now John Ryder in the ring. However, having observed Jaime vs. John, David is now of the opinion that Munguia deliberately avoided ‘Red Flag’ since the 27-year-old wanted to have easy fights.
Likewise, taking to Instagram, in one of his stories, Benavidez wrote, “This is [an] easy knockout. That’s why they ducked me.” Looks like, Benavidez is not impressed with Munguia’s victory. In this context, it must be mentioned that ahead of Jaime vs. Ryder, Benavidez’s father claimed John could upset Munguia in the ring. Additionally, expecting Ryder’s victory over Munguia, he even hoped for David vs. John in the future. Well, now that John has lost the fight, team Benavidez will likely settle for other fights.
