Tyson Fury still remains the undefeated WBC champion after his entertaining fight against Francis Ngannou. The much-anticipated crossover event had everybody on the edge of their seats, as the fight exceeded all expectations when Fury touched the canvas back straight in the third round. This incited hopes in the corner of Francis Ngannou and thus began the warfare between a boxer and an MMA fighter.
But it could be considered demeaning to call Ngannou an MMA fighter since he fought like a veteran boxer inside the squared ring. So much so, that even Tyson Fury praised the fighter in his post-fight interview, even though he won the fight via a split decision. The fans were outraged and called the results “corrupt“. However, Fury doesn’t want to run it back again until and unless he’s dealt with Oleksandr Usyk next.

Tyson Fury wants to chase the undisputed crown in his next bout
After the fight, Tyson Fury had a little face-to-face with his next scheduled opponent, Oleksandr Usyk. Amid the face-off, the reporter intervened and mentioned how this fight has been in the makings for a long time now. So, he asked Fury to speak his mind regarding the unified Heavyweight champion Usyk. Fury seemed ready in his answer, despite suffering a cut underneath his left eye.

He stated that they were supposed to fight in Wembley back in April this year. But now, they’ve got the chance to make it happen in Saudi Arabia, and he’d love to fight there for the undisputed title. He said, “His Excellency Turki Al Sheikh is gonna put the fight on for all the belts, the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world. Let’s go my brother. Let’s go.” Then the reporter turned the microphone to Usyk, and he didn’t even let the reporter finish his sentence. “Let’s go,” he replied with a simple answer.
Usyk also added that he’s going to put up an “amazing” fight for the fans. But it seems that both fighters are ready to face each other in the coming months. At first, the date was decided to be December 23rd, however, Fury’s manager Frank Warren advised not to set any date as of now, mainly because of the cut near Fury’s eye. Moreover, Fury also mentioned the prospect of his rematch with Francis Ngannou.
Fury would consider fighting Francis Ngannou again
Right after the fight, Fury was asked whether the 6x UFC ‘Performance of the Year’ surprised him with his boxing skills, and ‘The Gypsy King’ couldn’t deny it. He was definitely taken aback by the level at which Ngannou fought, but the result was as expected by him. He said, “Listen it was very awkward, he wasn’t coming forward. He was standing back waiting for me to land my punches and then try to counter it. He is a good fighter, he’s given me probably one of the toughest fights in the last ten years.”

Then he also stated that he didn’t get knocked down in the third round, since it’s part of the sport. He also kept the option of a rematch open, but he expressed an interest in taking on ‘The Cat’ first. He said, “Listen, I would like to do it again down the line. And I’m sure Francis would like to do it as well. But we got this man [Oleksandr Usyk] to deal with next and that’s what’s next for us.” So, it would not be until next year before we see these two fighters square up against each other.
