WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has dived into the ongoing turmoils over the Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders matchup. The 168 lbs title unification fight is in jeopardy as Saunders has threatened to walk away over a ring size dispute.
Moreover, the WBO champion has also ridiculed the idea of not having a judge from the UK, as he believes it will play into Alvarez’s hand if the bout goes the distance. All these factors resulted in Saunders’ absence from the first face-off.
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury has backed up his stablemate in the mix and has demanded fair play from the promoters. He tweeted, “We will travel all over the world to fight the best fighters, all we ask is for a bit of fair play,”

Prior to the fight, Fury has envisioned Saunders teaching Canelo Alvarez a boxing lesson. Per the heavyweight elite, Alvarez has struggled to fight against southpaw boxers. He also took note of Alvarez’s sole career loss to Floyd Mayweather to pose Saunders as the superior pugilist.

Speaking with Behind The Gloves, Fury said, “Canelo’s tasted defeat and we know he can be outboxed because we’ve seen it. [Floyd] Mayweather outboxed him convincingly. He’s had a couple of sticky fights, struggled in a couple of southpaw fights. He struggled with [Erislandy] Lara. If Lara was a bit more of a name, a bit more of a draw, he probably would’ve got the decision.” (H/T:- DAZN)
