On December 18, two of boxing’s prime sensations, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury, will take up the ring space against each other. A fight between these two was in discussion for a long time. Moreover, many boxing purists and personalities wanted to see this fight come to life for obvious reasons. That said, this bout is now on, and it’s inching closer with time.

Paul and Fury fought on the same night last time. ‘The Problem Child’ battled Tyron Woodley; Tommy Fury fought Anthony Taylor.

Given the record and skills, Fury was a favorite to win this fight via knockout. But this contest went the distance, and somehow, Fury managed to win it via a unanimous decision. Few were unimpressed with ‘TNT’s performance, but his elder brother, Tyson Fury, felt there was a reason the young gun performed that way.

Speaking to Boxing Lowdown, ‘The Gypsy King’ said, “Tommy looked terrible on purpose so he could get this [Jake Paul] fight. That’s what clever people do.” (h/t Michael Benson)

Fury didn’t look in the best element in his fight against Taylor. Also, he refrained from getting into a brawl and finding some success with his best shots.

But, as ‘The Gypsy King’ said in his above statement, ‘TNT’ looked terrible on purpose. Hence, it will be interesting to see how he fares against Jake Paul on December 18.

‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul and ‘TNT’ Tommy Fury are both finishers who display an immaculate boxing stint.

Fury has a KO ratio of 57.14%; Paul has a KO ratio of 75%. On paper, the YouTuber turned boxer definitely looks strong, but he hasn’t fought the best of fighters until now. However, in this fight, Jake Paul would look to finish Fury and vanquish his naysayers.

Similarly, Fury, too, will remain hungry to smother Paul and head into 2022 as an undefeated fighter. As of now, it seems like both the men will show up with extreme power punching at the Amalie Arena.
