In the build-up to the mega-trilogy fight between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder on July 24th, Wilder recently posted a video of him bench-pressing and captioned it by asking Fury to raise his weight.

Unimpressed with his show of strength, a long-time rival, Dillian Whyte clapped back at Wilder and called him out to fight by posting a reply to his video.

During their last press conference, Tyson Fury said that he plans to raise his weight to 300 lbs and “run him over like an 18-wheeler“.

The ‘Bronze Bomber’ then posted a video of him bench-pressing 310 lbs weight and saying “You say a semi-truck, I’m going to run you over with a train, baby“.

Soon after Deontay posted his video, Dillian Whyte replied with a video of him lifting even heavier weights and called him a “coward“.

Anytime, anywhere, we must fight,” said Whyte.

Bad blood between Dillian Whyte and Deontay Wilder

Before losing the WBC heavyweight title to Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder was the reigning champion of the division for a stretch of 1,862 days.

Through his reign as WBC heavyweight champion, Dillian Whyte was the top contender for a title shot. However, even with Whyte’s promoter Eddie Hearn’s efforts, the fight never came to fruition.

Dillian Whyte was not pleased with this situation. In addition, Whyte had lost his mandatory challenger position because of a knockout loss at the hands of Alexander Povetkin in 2020. Whyte has since found his way back to title contention after defeating Povetkin in a rematch earlier this year.

Dillian Whyte believes Deontay Wilder has no shot at winning against Tyson Fury this time around either. He believes ‘The Gypsy King’ will defeat him again.

It’s a shame that Tyson Fury is going to beat him again and then I won’t get to fight him. He’ll retire, run into the abyss, and never be seen again, said Dillian Whyte.

With Deontay getting another shot at Tyson Fury, the rivalry between the two only seems to have escalated. Indubitably, a fight between Whyte and the Bronze Bomber will be one for the history books.
