Joe Rogan is one of the most popular names in the MMA community. The UFC color commentator is hugely regarded for his in-depth analysis and understanding of the game. However, Mixed Martial Arts isn’t the only sport that he loves to watch and give his opinion on.
In the latest episode of his extremely popular podcast, Joe Rogan sat down with Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera, where they discussed Canelo Alvarez and the superiority he displays in the sport.
In the latest iteration of the podcast, Rogan and ‘Chito’ discussed a variety of topics spanning the whole combat sports scene. Chiefly, from cheating to weigh-cuts, they didn’t leave any stone unturned. Meanwhile, as they settled on the topic of boxing, both of them shook their heads in awe of Alvarez’s skills. “These guys that have power, that also have defensive moment and skill, like that’s where Canelo is so exceptional,” Rogan said. “Canelo has everything. He’s got power, and he’s got ridiculous defense. Oh my god, everything he does.”
“For a minute he’s blinking, then he fu*king going Mike Tyson on you and then he Benavidez, Holy fuck. That’s fucking beauty to watch,” ‘Chito’ agreed.
“The Danny Jacobs fight, where he was like slipping all those punches to him, right in front of him. It’s just, it’s gorgeous,” Rogan mentioned
“That probably the best to watch”
Finally, Rogan stated, “The best defensive movement, head movement. I think I’ve ever seen from a middleweight.”

Boxing legend Canelo Alvarez created history as he knocked out Caleb Plant to win the IBF title in November. Having previously won the WBA (Super), WBC, Ring titles, WBO titles in the past. Interestingly, this feat made ‘Canelo’ the first-ever undisputed super middleweight champion of the world.
However, the Mexican boxer has higher aspirations. Alvarez is now eyeing the cruiserweight strap as he aims to become a five-weight world champion.

At present, Alvarez has already gotten approval from the World Boxing Council to fight in the cruiserweight category. Notably, he is most likely to fight Ilunga Makabu. Meanwhile, he has already been called out by the likes of Joseph Benavidez and Beterbiev.
