The former UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou left the promotion following his contract dispute with the organization. As a result, he relinquished his title and became a free agent. Now, his eyes are set on making a boxing debut. He gave hints about it prior to leaving MMA by calling out the reigning WBC Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. He even attended the latter’s fight against Dillian Whyte where following the bout Fury himself called out Ngannou and announced to make it happen.

Unfortunately due to the shuffle in the Heavyweight division of boxing, the talks of this fight went into the cold box because Fury changed his course. He indulged himself in the talks for the undisputed Heavyweight clash with Oleksandr Usyk which is still ongoing. Meanwhile, the other elites in the division have agreed to fight Ngannou. Notably, former Heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder called him out recently. Moreover, Matchroom Boxing’s supremo Eddie Hearn also showed interest in setting up the former unified Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua against Ngannou.

Interestingly, Ngannou has plenty of opportunities in the boxing world.  Now, the boxing world is waiting for the 35-year-old to make the next move. Meanwhile, the former two-time Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson has given some suggestions to Ngannou ahead of the fight.

What did Mike Tyson say about Ngannou’s boxing plans?

In a brief interview with combat sports journalist Elie Sackbach, Tyson gave a few suggestions. Recalling the blockbuster boxing debut of UFC megastar Conor McGregor against the boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr., Tyson purposed Ngannou should focus on big-money fights.

“I think he should do it. After that fight, he will able to have his family over. He will never be able to do that in any other situation. One fight, his whole family coming over. I think he should go for a championship fight by the way for big money, don’t wait around too much. Go straight for the top. That’s what McGregor did”, said Tyson.
