The Chicago Bears have shocked fans with a commanding comeback from a poor start to the season. And Caleb Williams has had a pivotal contribution in bringing the team up to 7-3, putting them in first place in the NFC North. The #18 quarterback has earned praise from many. However, there is still an aspect of the Bears that former QB Chase Daniel expects to improve.

In the game against the Minnesota Vikings, Caleb Williams did not have a single passing touchdown. While the QB did show good instincts, it remained tough for the offense to score long yards. While speaking on the Breakdown, Chase Daniel shared his thoughts. He also feels that the Bears’ offense needs to be more dominating on the field, along with Williams.
“I want to see, showing up and that run game is dominant from the beginning[…] I want to see them efficient, not settle for field goals,” Eisen said. “I want the defense to punk people and continue to be the takeaway monsters that they are against an opponent that would leave me saying, “Okay, they can outlast Detroit and Green Bay.”

The Bears secured a 19-17 victory against the Minnesota Vikings earlier. Williams passed for 193 yards in the game. While this wasn’t his most dominating show, it was enough for the team to earn the most crucial points. But the team has showcased previously that they’re capable of achieving a lot more. Although they won the game against the Vikings, most of their points came from field goals with only one touchdown.
At the same time, it wouldn’t be fair not to talk about Williams’ scrambling on the field. His footwork throughout the game and rushing against the pocket assisted the team in gaining crucial yards. He did not turn the ball over in many instances and instead rushed to gain the most yards.

While he might not have contributed enough for a touchdown in the game, he helped the team score the most crucial points. Former QB Chase Daniel resonated this.
“Caleb Williams, five fourth-quarter come-from-behind victories. This dude is balling,” Daniel said on his YouTube channel. “I just don’t know what to say. He’s not doing a ton, but he’s making the plays when he needs to make the plays.”

But there are still loose ends to the Bears’ offense. They remained inefficient early in the game, and their conversion rate was low. It was apparent that the team remained dependent on Williams.
How far have the Bears come this season with Caleb Williams?
The Chicago Bears have indeed made a strong comeback. They lost the opening two games, with the Lions dominating them with a 52-21 final score. However, Ben Johnson’s impact on the team became visible after their game against the Cowboys. The Bears marked their first victory of the season with a 31-14 final score and put themselves on a winning streak. However, even at 5-3, the team was considered to be “either the best bad team or the worst good team,” as Kyle Brandt put it.

Williams has been a key player this season. Out of the 10 games he’s played, he has a total of 2329 passing yards, with a total of 13 touchdowns. He also has 272 rushing yards and reached the end zone three times.
But their victory against the Vikings has put them in a strong position. The Bears are currently in first place in the NFC North. At the same time, however, it is apparent that the team needs to work more on its offense. They put on a good show against the Vikings, but it was a slim victory. It was hard to declare a clear winner at any point during the game. With a quarterback like Caleb Williams, can the Bears improve their offense further and get a stronghold in future games?
