Activision had removed it from their games for a while but it has returned with their latest title, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Previously, the Editorial Manager at Activision, David Hodgson, had explained the process and the return of Prestige mode. Treyarch Studios, the lead developers of Black Ops Cold War, have now released a detailed blog on the topic.
The blog post talks about how the new Prestige system will work, especially with the seasons coming in Cold War. Moreover, it also gives the first look at all the new badges and new content that comes along with the prestige mode. Finally, Treyarch Studios has tweaked the mode in a new way to make a lot of players happy.

Call of Duty Cold War players will not lose access to Create-a-Class
Players had to sacrifice a lot of content in order to achieve the Prestige rank. Therefore, a lot of players gave up the prestige grind in order to retain content like create-a-class. Moreover, with the launch of seasons, the developers said, “We?ve heard from players who want to see their progress continue across Seasons in even more meaningful ways.”

A new global leveling system
As a part of Call of Duty’s new cross-studio approach, Activision plans to expand the players’ progression beyond Cold War in the future.
As per the blog, “Starting with Season One in December, Seasonal Prestige will become the new leveling journey across Warzone and Modern Warfare, with all players starting on this new progression path without losing any previously earned content.”

The new system will also sync battle pass progression across games. Therefore, players can unlock battle pass rewards whether they are playing Warzone, BOCW, or MW.
