Season 3 of Call of Duty Warzone aims to blow away fans with content and story overload. Never seen before in the year-long history of Activision’s passionate Battle Royale project, the game is witnessing a complete overhaul. Not only are there new weapons and operators, but a completely different map.

The developers had previously added a new and smaller map, Rebirth Island, to the game. However, unlike PUBG, which offers multiple maps, Call of Duty Warzone developers decided to go a different route. The much-awaited Nuke event initiated the ‘Destruction of Verdansk’, which will completely annihilate the current map.

With the arrival of a new map, the developers also decided to bring a new Gulag design. Previously, Activision changed the Gulag design to turn it into a version of the classic Call of Duty map Nuketown. However, many players and even celebrities such as Dr Disrespect hated the Gulag design. Therefore, Raven picked yet another classic COD map for the Season 3 Gulag design.

A meme on the Call of Duty Warzone subreddit instantly became viral when it dissed the new Gulag. Through the meme, the fan wanted to convey that the original Gulag was, in fact, the best Gulag design to have ever existed in the game. However, ever since the integration of Black Ops Cold War, things have gone downhill.

Although it has been out just a few hours, the Standoff Gulag design has already failed to impress players. For some, it might be a significant improvement over the Nuketown adaptation of the 1v1 gunfight map. However, it is nowhere close to the original design, something fans have been asking for, ever since the developers removed it from Warzone.

Activision’s decision to integrate Black Ops Cold War with Warzone has been under heavy criticism. Not only has the fan-favorite Gulag design been affected, but the complete mechanics of the game, including weapons, have been extremely different. Those who have been playing Warzone right from the start cannot ignore this massive difference.

Hopefully, whatever Raven Software has in store for fans with Call of Duty Warzone Season 3, makes up for all this disappointment.
