The fight was billed as ‘Bad Intentions’, and it definitely justified being called as such. At end of the round one, Whyte went ballistic after Joshua landed a blow on him after the bell. Though the British boxer’s punch ended up landing on the referee instead. Moreover, in the second round, ‘The Body Snatcher’ landed a nasty left hook on Joshua’s chin.
This shook the former champion. Referring to the punch, Joshua, in a recent video shared by daznboxing talked about what went wrong. He said, “As I’ve gone to throw a right hand, you’re supposed to sit back on your back foot and rotate to get your leverage.”

However, what AJ did was he lent over his front hand and it put him “in the firing line”. And he paid the price for his mistake. Joshua revealed that he “didn’t see it coming” because he “wasn’t interested in what’s coming back”, adding that he was only “interested in attacking Dillian” at that time.
Joshua referred to the punch as “a peach of a punch that shook me down to my boots.” The heavyweight star managed to get his bearings once again and later even won the bout through a knockout.
Despite huge risks, Joshua books fight with Dillian Whyte
AJ is putting everything on the line as he prepares to face Whyte for the second time in his professional boxing career. According to Hearn, it appears that Deontay Wilder’s team is not too happy about him risking a fight against Whyte ahead of their December bout. On the other hand, Whyte is unhappy about not being able to finalize his $400 million bout against Wilder.

Hearn revealed if Joshua ends up losing the bout then, “the deal on the table is not the deal if he loses to Dillian Whyte”. It is understandable as such an outcome will negatively impact the draw to the fight for fans.
The British promoter told talkSPORT that AJ was adamant about facing Whyte. He claimed that Joshua decided to “roll the dice” with it. Hearn pointed out how dangerous the bout is due to the previous rivalry between the duo.
