Jonathan Kuminga’s dream run continues for the Golden State Warriors. The 21-year-old dropped his 8th straight 20-point game, marking the arrival of the future leader. It didn’t stop at that. He also made some changes in the franchise’s history, entering the league of Stephen Curry‘s predecessor. Following tonight’s 20+ points game, he has now recorded 25 straight games in double figures.
With that, he has set the franchise record for the longest streak in 16 years of scoring in double digits by a player under the age of 22. This is the longest streak since Monta Ellis’s in 2008.

The Warriors have had a hot-cold season so far, but Jonathan Kuminga has been the only consistent player in this season. Even superstar Stephen Curry missed his mark a couple of times this season, whereas Kuminga has hit the bull’s eye quite regularly. And he did it tonight as well.
He dropped 29 points with 6 rebounds to lead the Dubs to a comfortable 121-101 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies. While the Dub Nation was used to witness either Steph or Klay Thompson lead the team, the rising star stamped his authority with an athletic performance.
The retired NBA player came into the Warriors fold in 2005 and expanded his wings with each passing season. It was his third season, where he exploded into a front-line star. He recorded his first-ever 20-point average season and continued to build on it. Similarly, Kuminga, who started as a bench player, has gone on to earn a spot in the starting line-up. Looking into the future, following the Steph-Klay-Green era, the Warriors are in safe hands.

A few days into the season, fans were worried about Kuminga’s tussle with Steve Kerr. While the Dub Nation thought that it would be the end of the rising star in Dubs’ color, the team had something else in the store.
In the same spirit, Kuminga went on to stamp his name in the Warriors’ record books. During the Warriors’ recent win against the Atlanta Hawks, Kuminga scored 25 points. It may seem like an ordinary effort but all these points came in an 11-11 FG.
