In the physical altercation that took place between Draymond and Gobert, Draymond held Gobert by his neck in a chokehold lock. The game was immediately paused and the referees, players, and the team staff had to get involved to break up the brawl. Seconds before this happened, Rudy Gobert was trying to break up another in-game physical altercation between Klay Thompson and a Minnesota Timberwolves player, Jade McDaniels. Rudy Gobert held Klay Thompson from behind and that’s when Draymond rushed in and held Gobert by the neck.

Vince Carter then gives his verdict on Draymond Green’s actions, “First of all, let me start off by saying that’s a wild boy…he’s a wild boy. The fact that he’s saying ‘I got to protect my teammate at all costs.’ okay cool…but at some point, I mean you got the boy like…it’s almost night-night time.”
Lou Williams then adds, “It has actually nothing to do with his teammate. He got pushed and he went to go get his lick back.” Vince Carter immediately agrees, “Exactly! He saw his opportunity like, ‘Oh…right now. This is my chance. Come here, boy.”
