In a recent podcast episode, a former Lakers star with 7 NBA championship rings, talks about the key ingredient to the recipe of becoming a championship-winning team.

In the recent episode of “Big Shot Bob Podcast”, 7x NBA champion Robert Horry talks about the most common trait of the players who became NBA champions.
After a co-host asks the former NBA player, “Who were the best guys, on the teams that you played on, who played that way? (Two-way threat).” Robert Horry replies, “Kobe, Clyde, Tim… Manu, Shaq to some degree.”

He further explains, “When you look at Shaq you don’t expect to move his feet on the perimeter. But when you get to that…woah…he gonna put you on your a**.”
Robert Horry then explains, “That’s why I’ve been on seven championships. Because I played with guys who could play on both ends on the floor.” Horry then emphasizes the importance of being on a team where no player is a liability on the defensive end (considering he’s good at offense).
But to be fair, Robert Horry was on some iconic NBA teams during his NBA career.
Robert Horry’s NBA journey
Standing at 6’10 and weighing 240 pounds, Robert Horry was a serious two-way threat on the court. Knocking down clutch jump shots and making impactful defensive plays, he was a key role player in every team that he was a part of.

During his 17 years in the league, he played for several iconic teams. He played for the iconic 1990’s Houston Rockets team which had Clyde Drexler and Hakeem Olajuwon. That Rockets team won two NBA championships with them in 1994 and 1995.
He was also part of the iconic ‘three-peat’ Los Angeles Lakers team which had a young Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal (2000,2001,2002). Finally, he also played alongside NBA greats like Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan in the iconic Spurs championship team of 2005 and 2007.
