It’s been just 2 weeks since AEW fired CM Punk. As fans eagerly await CM Punk’s next move, rumors are rife that he might soon join WWE.  There are also rumors that Edge might join AEW as WWE has not renewed his contract due to certain disagreements. Drew McIntyre’s contract talks with WWE have also reached a standstill leading to exit rumors. The WWE Universe awaits with bated breath for the news of a renewal for their favorite stars. But as all these rumors go on, WWE has gone ahead to add an ex-AEW Champion to the WWE roster for a price that has shocked the wrestling pundits.

Generally, this is not the amount WWE shells out for a newcomer to the company but there might be reasons.

Jade Cargill has been with AEW from 2020 to 2023. During that time, she garnered a loyal fanbase. She was also the inaugural AEW TBS Champion and has had the longest reign for any AEW championship of 508 days.

Her reign ended at AEW’s PPV Double or Nothing in May 2023 where she lost her title to Kris Statlander. She went on a hiatus due to an injury shortly after and eventually her contract with AEW expired. Post that, there were rumors that Cargill would jump ship, and that got AEW fans really upset. But these rumors turned into reality as Jade Cargill is all set to make her debut in the WWE. She will start training at the WWE Performance Center in Florida this week. But what’s even more shocking is the amount that they have signed her for.

Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Radio conveyed that she signed a lucrative amount that dwarfs typical contracts for a newcomer. He said, And she’ll get a vocal push because the money to get her, you have to give her a chance to get over because they’re not paying what they would pay a normal person to start there. It’s not like it’s Charlotte Flair money or anything like that or Becky Lynch money, but for a newcomer to the company, it’s much higher than they usually go. So she got a good deal”.

Only time will tell if Cargill will be worth the money they have signed her for. But who is the top-paid female wrestler in the WWE? Let’s have a look.

Becky Lynch is the highest-paid female wrestler in WWE history

Just to give you guys a perspective, the highest-paid WWE athlete right now and ever is Brock Lesnar with $12 million.
