While speaking in an interview with Sports Illustrated, The RAW brand star begins his statement by saying that if his father, Dusty Rhodes, were to be around at that time, he would never want him to join the faction. He said, “A lot of people told me I shouldn’t do it. Had my father been alive, he would have suggested against it.”
In fact, he, himself, didn’t want to be a part of a stable. He wanted to establish himself as a lone wolf and dominate the wrestling industry on his own.

“It went against what I wanted to do. I didn’t want to be in a group, I didn’t want to be on a team, and I didn’t want to be in a faction. I wanted to be a quarterback and the lead dog,” he added. But then why did he join the faction? Well, the reason is his former stablemate.
Rhodes joined Bullet Club because of Kenny Omega
During the interview, The American Nightmare said Kenny Omega is the reason he grabbed the opportunity to shine as a faction star.
“Stepping into Bullet Club, seeing Kenny as the leader, and using my real-life quest to compete with him, this was an opportunity to take what Finn Bálor created. And was extremely profitable. And take it to another level of profits,” he elucidated.

The Bullet Club is very close to his heart. Plus, the fans were also happy to see his reunion with the faction a couple of months earlier.
