WWE’s undisputed champion Roman Reigns is one of the strongest wrestlers to have stepped into a WWE ring. The Tribal Chief boasts Herculean levels of strength and tenacity and has always stood up to the toughest competition. While this does make him truly undeniable, it has also resulted in The Head of the Table getting severely injured.
Roman Reigns isn’t a full-time active wrestler in WWE anymore. However, while he voluntarily choses a part time schedule now, there were times when he couldn’t show up due to injuries. But how many times has he been injured and what kind of injuries were those? Here’s a detailed list of every injury ‘The Tribal Chief’ has faced.
Roman Reigns faces the sting of betrayal even after a win

Roman Reigns faced his cousin and former Bloodline member Jey Uso in a tribal combat match on 5 August 2023 at WWE SummerSlam. Although he found himself on the losing end one more time, an interference by Jimmy Uso saved him a loss.

However, while Jimmy saved his Tribal Chief from a defeat, he couldn’t save him from an injury Reigns suffered during the match. Roman Reigns supposedly hurt his back during a clothesline and a suicide dive. This forced Reigns to miss the post-match press conference, and Paul Heyman attended it in his stead.
When Kevin Owens slapped Roman Reigns a little too hard
Roman Reigns entered the WWE ring alongside The Bloodline to face Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, and the Brawling Brutes. The Survivor Series WarGames matchup saw the usage of several weapons. While Reigns fared quite well against the weapons but a slap from Kevin Owens proved too much for him.
The Tribal Chief apparently didn’t see the slap coming and got his bell rung by KO. Roman Reigns thought that he ruptured his eardrum, and although it was accidental, he was upset backstage at Kevin Owens.
The Beastly Kimura that injured The Tribal Chief
Roman Reigns achieved his undisputed champion status after he defeated ex-WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. However, the match that unified the WWE and the WWE Universal Championship supposedly led to him almost splitting his arm.
Roman Reigns suffered multiple punishments at the hands of The Beast Incarnate. But, it is believed that Reigns got in serious trouble when Lesnar used the Kimura lock on his arm. The Kimura is one of the most deadly MMA locks and has a serious potential to injure even the most seasoned UFC veterans.

While Roman Reigns won the match, he struggled to even lift the weight of his championship belts. Thankfully, the Samoan wrestler doesn’t make many appearances in WWE, which allowed him to recover and not put his title on the line during that period.
When Reigns’ shoulder actually separated

During the time when Roman Reigns still had his ‘Big Dog’ gimmick, he was part of a brutal feud against Braun Strowman. Both wrestlers clashed with each other on multiple occasions, with The Monster Among Men landing several heavy blows on Reigns.
In April 2017 however, one of Strowman’s cruel shenanigans actually injured Roman Reigns. The Black Sheep jumped Reigns during an interview and tied him to a stretcher before throwing him off a loading deck. An ambulance was called for Reigns, but Strowman flipped the ambulance with a tremendous show of strength.
