There have been doubts over the future of superstars who returned to WWE during Vince McMahon’s absence from the company. The former head of creative was reportedly behind the departure of many of them. And since his comeback, there has been numerous speculation about his next move regarding the performers. The equation of one of those superstars with McMahon has recently come to light.
Triple H has developed close relationships with various talents who have risen through the ranks in NXT. And Johnny Gargano is one of the finest exports from the developmental brand to the main roster and The Game has mentored him personally. His relations with McMahon were reportedly tumultuous and there has been a new update regarding it.

There were reports that McMahon was the reason for the former NXT champion’s initial exit from WWE in 2021. Though, that may not be really the case. According to a report on Fightful Select, Vinnie Mac was directly involved in convincing Gargano to stay with the wrestling juggernaut back then.

He was last seen in the NXT Stand and Deliver event where he prevailed against Grayson Waller. Reports have revealed that he is nursing a shoulder injury, which he aggravated since his return in the January men’s Royal Rumble match.

He has competed in 16 matches since his comeback, overcoming the pain barrier in each of them. But competing in such high-octane contests has certainly taken its toll on his body.
Johnny Wrestling will undergo physiotherapy and the Stamford-based promotion is monitoring the situation. However, surgery may be required if the current treatment is not effective in rectifying the issue.
Nevertheless, Johnny Gargano would have been looking to make an impression on the main roster. This shoulder injury could not have come at a much worse time than it did. His fans can take solace in the fact that there is no rift between him and Vince McMahon and all is well between the two. Gargano needs to put all his energy into bouncing back from his issue.
