Three-time Grand Slam winner, Stan Wawrinka, surely has left a mark on tennis. During the 2014-2016 seasons, the man hailing from Switzerland won three Grand Slam titles at three different venues.
His first was at the Australian Open 2014, where he beat Rafael Nadal in the final. After this, he won at Roland Garros in 2015, where he beat Novak Djokovic in the final. And finally, he beat the Serbian ace again to win the US Open in 2016. Interestingly, this was the period during which his fellow compatriot Roger Federer failed to lift a single major.
In this new season, players are training in their rooms, ahead of the Australian Open 2021. Players are living in a bubble and conditions have been different compared to the previous years. Recently, Stan Wawrinka’s coach, Daniel Valluverdu, spoke on the conditions of the players currently living in isolation.

Stan Wawrinka’s Coach: Players are not complaining about quarantine
The coach spoke on this issue and stated, “I know the players are not complaining about the hard quarantine, that’s not the issue. The issue for the players is that they have made the trip to Australia to perform as an athlete and perform at one of the biggest sporting events in the world. And that’s their job to be prepared to do that. So I think they are just disappointed they are not able to prepare.”

“By spending 14 days in the room, that gets taken away, so I can understand how that’s disappointing and how there are, yeah, some negative comments about it. To have to sit in a room, having tested negative, but look, the health officials decided that’s what’s the safest option for everyone and for Australians, so we’ll have to accept it.”
