“Touch Grass”: YouTuber Goes Viral After Setting World Record of Beating Sons of the Forest in Just 9 Minutes

After an anticipated three-year waiting period, fans finally got to play the survival action Sons of the Forest. Unique for its approach and game style, this brand-new game is creating waves of excitement among the audience.

Being a sequel to a popular game, Sons of Forest surely has ticked all the checkboxes for many. But, the game, which many considered complex, was completed in under nine minutes by a speedrunner.

Speedrunner beats Sons of the Forest in under 9 minutes!

The game which was released on February 23 set ravishing sales records. It became a massive hit. And thus whether the game can be completed through a fast-paced speedrun rose. Benjamin Romero, one of the millions who is currently enjoying what the Sons of the Forest has to offer, took the helm to achieve the record.

The YouTuber dominated the game to complete it in a world record time. Romero completed the game in just under 9 minutes, clocking the finish point at 8 minutes and 45 seconds. He achieved this feat just five days after the game was released to the world.

This remarkable feat points towards the possibility of finishing the new game in a speedrun. For achieving this insane record, the streamer used the assistance of some of the glitches that are present in the game. The sole motto of Romero was to cross the finish line in record time, and speedrunners using such glitches are not a new thing.

One such trick that Romero pulled was to run up a mountain at the beginning of the speedrun. Doing so and jumping off the mountain makes the character unconscious and at that moment the respawn mechanism kicks in, and the character will be teleported to the closest cannibal village. This has saved much time for the player and helped him skip large portions of the game.

Another glitch he used was to open up the crafting menu while falling down, as this cancels the supposed health drops caused due to the fall impact.

Many players were in awe after hearing about this remarkable achievement. However, some players did not find a speedrun using glitches to be valid. And even criticized the gamer for doing speedruns. Especially as they claim speedruns kill off the aesthetics of the game.
