Ted Price, the CEO of Insomniac Games recently had a chat session with the director of Bethesda’s newest open-world RPG. Together they discussed the early ideas that led to Starfield and what went into the process of making the biggest open-world space exploration to date. Both gaming geniuses shared their perspectives on complex games, development challenges, and the strategies they pull to keep up with fan expectations.

What added to the beauty of the interaction was Ted Price’s admiration for Starfield. And of course, both the creators didn’t refrain from addressing the ‘console rivalry’ and title acquisition culture.

Bethesda became a part of Microsoft and we went through a transition with Sony when we were working on Spider-Man”. “Is this the cool part where we get like spicy about being acquired by console?” Todd Howard hilariously responded.

Carrying the conversation forward, both the creators emphasized the importance of looking beyond the console rivalry. Gradually, fans believe the PS vs. Xbox debate has taken over the honest reviews on a game. Well, both the icons took a step forward to bring back the feeling of a more unified gaming culture. 

Are we allowed to talk? I love your games it’s a shame”, Todd Howard took a sarcastic dig at the ongoing trends. Adding on, the Insomniac Games CEO even hinted at playing Starfield. “Thank God you guys publish on PC. I don’t necessarily have to have all the consoles.
