Collin Morikawa has won the 2021 Open Championship with a staggering performance throughout the tournament. He scored 66 in the final round to remain -15 and won the final major championship of the year by two strokes. This is Morikawa’s second major championship win. His first major victory came at the 2020 PGA Championship.
Collin was striking his iron sweetly. He was hitting absolute darts, especially with short irons. But at the same time, it was pleasing to see his progress as a player with driver and putter, which has always been his weakest link. Throughout the round, he had driving accuracy of about 60% and made around 1.54 average putts on each green, which is breathtaking.
With this historic win, Morikawa has created and broken multiple records. And he has also joined the list of a few elite players with a unique record to his name.
