Lando Norris is one of the most loved F1 personalities. His bubbly nature gets him a lot of love from the Papaya army and F1 fans in general as well. Despite going through a rough patch, he has maintained composure even in the toughest of races. And the radio messages never seem ugly. Despondent? Maybe. But he never sounds aggressive. Based on this, one could deduce that he would be great at handling off-track matters, such as interacting with children, maybe. However, Norris does not find dealing with kids very easy.

In the latest episode of F1: Beyond the Grid, the Briton spoke to Tom Clarkson about a variety of topics. Topics that covered his professional and personal life. Norris also spoke about how negativity on social media is to be taken with a pinch of salt. Building on that, Clarkson asked him, “If you had kids now, what advice would you give them about social media?”

The Briton sounded a bit hesitant to even think about that scenario. If you were having as bad of a professional phase as Norris is having, you wouldn’t want to think about such heavy things too. So, he just chuckled and said, “I don’t wanna think of that just yet.” But, he did go on to say how good he is with children, despite babies not reciprocating.

Norris said, “I love kids. My brother’s had his second baby. And they’re the cutest things on Earth. I think I am a great uncle. As much as babies always cry when they see me, I feel like I’m good with them. I’ve grown up with my manager for the last, what, ten… I’m gonna say eleven years or something and he’s had three kids. So, yeah, kind of just growing up with them a little bit. Even when I was a kid, I don’t feel like I was much older than what they were.”

Taking care of babies needs a lot of responsibility. Norris might not be willing to think about it now but at McLaren, he is getting firsthand experience of being the more responsible person taking the lead.

Hamilton said, as quoted by metro.co.uk, “George and Lando are both incredibly talented and have such a bright future ahead of them. It’s crazy to think they are as young as they are. Lando is 23 but has been here for ages. I’m excited to watch their journey and where they get to.”
