Seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton has given his opinion on Fernando Alonso, as reported by ESPN F1. He has said, “I would say it is a shame that he’s not as decorated as his abilities deserve.”
Hamilton added: “For me, arguably the greatest driver I’ve driven against.”

When a seven-time World Champion, and arguably the greatest of all time in a sport says something like that about someone, it isn’t for nothing. Fernando Alonso has two World Championship titles under his belt. In 2005 and 2006, Alonso won the Championship as a driver for Renault. Alonso also has 32 race victories against his name, the sixth-highest total in the history of Formula One.
Things are on the brighter side for Alonso currently
Currently, in the 2021 season, Alonso is in the 10 position in the Drivers’ Championship table, with 58 points. He has already surpassed his teammate Esteban Ocon, even though it’s his first year with Alpine.

Alpine has provided Alonso with a solid midfield car, and he has made the most of it, just as is expected from a two-time World Champion.
Getting into Q3 has been a regular thing for Alonso. Fans have also seen him score points for Alpine quite regularly. However, Alonso has already revealed that he expects even more from himself from the next season onwards.
