Carlos Sainz Fires Warning at Verstappen & Hamilton Amidst Potentially Unpredictable 2022 F1 Season

The 2021 season mostly had the same story unfolding with either Lewis Hamilton or Max Verstappen taking pole position on Saturday, only for the duo to pull away effortlessly from the rest of the grid on Sunday.
And by the time Hamilton and Verstappen crossed the chequered flag, the rest of the drivers would find themselves lurking miles behind the leaders. Predictable, isn’t it? Well, not for long. Since the takeover by Liberty Media, F1 has been chasing competitive racing by restricting the regulations to a rather narrow path.
Hence, there are quite a few surprises in store as we head into the 2022 season. Carlos Sainz, too, is aware of the makeover that is in the offing and is already eyeing the big trophy.

During an interview, the Spaniard reckoned that he could beat both Hamilton and Verstappen assuming he owns a car as competitive as Mercedes and Red Bull.

Sainz warns Lewis Hamilton & Max Verstappen
As reported by Soy Motor, the Madrid native is certain that he could defeat the two world champions next season if Ferrari manages to pull off a masterclass in their Maranello factory.
“With the same car, you can, yes, or with more equal conditions. The problem is that this year Mercedes and Red Bull were between eight tenths and one second per lap faster, and between drivers, I want to think that there are not more than two or three tenths,” he said.
