A dream start to a nightmarish finish is how we can sum up Ferrari‘s 2022 campaign. However, going into the new season with a change in management, the Italian outfit will aim higher. Especially Charles Leclerc, as the Monegasque outlines his ambitions for the upcoming season during an award ceremony.

The ambition and the aim for 2023 are clear: become a Formula 1 world champion. It will take a monumental effort to beat the likes of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton to the task. However, the Monegasque is obsessed with the idea of winning the championship, as he disclosed in the 2022 Autosprint award ceremony reported by Corriere dello Sport.

Leclerc disclosed Ferrari’s approach to the upcoming season and his relationship with the team. “We hope to win the world championship. We’re working 300%. It was a good year but we want to improve. I grew up karting. I’ve always got on well with Italians, so there’s a very strong connection with the team,” he said.

More importantly, he disclosed his obsession with the Formula 1 championship title. He said, “I don’t dream often at night but I daydream a lot & my dream is to become a world champion. It’s a fixed thought in my head.”

However, the Monegasque is aware the task of winning the championship in 2023 will not be straightforward. Additionally, he is sure Red Bull won’t be their sole rival in 2023.
