Closed wounds for Ferrari fans have been opened yet again by the Drive to Survive’s latest season. They are forced to watch it because of their love for the sport and the annual crazy behind-the-scenes fest, but they hate to see it because of their team’s colossal failure at the hands of Mattia Binotto and the squad. The Tifosi have to endure the pain as they see Charles Leclerc failing because of botched strategies by the team.

However, the driver seems to hold no blame for Mattia Binotto. We see this during the third episode of the latest Drive to Survive season, titled “Matter of Principal,” where the driver talks about the decisions that eventually led him to slip from the lead at Silverstone and see his teammate Carlos Sainz bag the first win of his career. But the confusion that happened during the race after the yellow flag showed a weak foundation in the Ferrari pit wall.

Leclerc said, “Mattia is the boss. It’s Mattia who is taking the decisions about the team orders. He chooses what’s right for the team, and we just have to deal with it. There’s… There’s no exceptions to avoid it, no,” as he plays the perfect student, displacing no blame at all on his boss.

And though it also shows the authority that Binotto held, it also highlights how Sainz disobeyed the orders but somehow made a better call than the team processing a lot of data.

Charles Leclerc highlights flaws and improvements at Ferrari

The preseason testing has concluded in Bahrain, with all the teams facing some issues of some sort. But eyes were set on Ferrari as the fans awaited to see the rise of their challenge against Red Bull.

And triggering mixed emotions inside the Tifosi, Leclerc, as quoted by PlanetF1, said, “I think our car changed a little bit of characteristic this year, I expect us to be a bit quicker in the straights, maybe struggling a bit more in in the corners.”

There have been mixed signs, which reignites some of Tifosi’s hopes that the team will revive and be ready to compete for the championship.
