The 2022 season has been phenomenal for Ferrari so far. The Italian team picked up two wins out of three races to speed past everyone else on the field. Meanwhile, the season hasn’t started the way Red Bull wanted it to be. Team boss Christian Horner explains.

The recent race at Albert Park saw Ferrari getting the better of Red Bull once again. The Maranello-based team picked up the pole, fastest lap as well as the race win, whereas Red Bull finished in P2 with Max Verstappen having yet another DNF. However, Horner affirmed that the tide will soon be on their side.

Talking about this, Christian Horner conveyed, “They were out of reach. They did not experience the problems that many teams have had to face. They were definitely in a happier place.”

Can Red Bull make a comeback?

If considered, Red Bull cars aren’t that slow as compared to other teams. If not faster, the RB-18 are as fast as the F1-75. The only difference between them is the reliability. Ferrari seems to be way ahead as compared to Red Bull now.

However, the Milton Keynes-based team is confident in putting everything together. As Horner earlier stated that the team would rather fix a fast car than make a slow car faster, things might change when F1 goes to Italy next week.

Horner further stated on this, “I think there is still a lot to go on. What’s encouraging is that we have the foundation of a fast car. Obviously, we need to understand these and deal with them quickly because even on a day when we weren’t as fast as Ferrari, we secured second place.”

Red Bull currently occupies P3 in Constructor’s Championship with 55 points, while Ferrari is way ahead in P1 with 104 points. Interestingly, Mercedes managed to get back to P2 with a podium in Melbourne last week, bagging a total of 65 points so far. With the fourth round coming up next week, it’ll be interesting to see if the Austrian team can make it two wins out of four to match Ferrari in their own home ground.
