Well, that’s more like it!!! The Mercedes AMG F1 team put up a much-improved performance in the Spanish Grand Prix qualifying session. Both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton were able to finish at the top 6.

The 7-time world champion even went on to mention that the German team might have the chance to compete against Ferrari in the main race tomorrow.

Lewis showed some great confidence in his W13 and stated that they have a really good race pace for tomorrow. But he also reflected that he is a bit disappointed he could not finish higher like his teammate, who got P4.

Lewis Hamilton is confident that Mercedes can challenge Ferrari in Spanish GP

Hamilton acknowledged the fact that despite finishing on the tails of Red Bull in qualifying, the Austrian team might have a bit more pace than them on Sunday. But it is certainly interesting to see how confident he and the team are that they can challenge Ferrari tomorrow.

“Yes, definitely [more confidence in race pace], yesterday was the best race pace that we’ve had so if we can start racing with the Ferraris, for example, that would be amazing. I think the Red Bulls look like they might be quickest, but we might be able to compete with the Ferraris tomorrow and that’s a big step for us,” said Hamilton.
