After racing at the pinnacle of motorsport for more than 15 years, Sebastian Vettel will race his last in Abu Dhabi this Sunday. The 4-time world champion will leave an indelible mark on Formula 1 with his multiple breathtaking performances. Fans got to witness the best of Seb in 2013 when he not only equaled Michael Schumacher’s most race wins in a season record (13) but also set the record for most consecutive race wins (9).

Max Verstappen broke the record for most race wins this year, but the record for most consecutive wins still stands.

Ricciardo said, “I really enjoyed my year with Vettel in 2014. This was a four-time world champion who I was able to just observe. He had a way of getting what he wanted or getting a point across, which was sometimes intense or robust, but it was respected and taken on.”

“It wasn’t like, “F**k, this guy’s complaining again!” or, “He’s telling us how to do our job!” It was concise, to the point, but it would always end in, Let’s do it together! There’d be some positive reinforcement, but with authority. It was obviously a world champion talking. It was also some German personality, German efficiency, if you will [Laughs].”

As curtains fall on Sebastian Vettel’s illustrious career this Sunday, the German stays realistic about his chances of winning the race. Nonetheless, he aims to enjoy his final outing before saying goodbye to the sport.

The Race quoted him saying, “I’m in peace with it. I know that my last race probably will not be the highlight of all the whatever how many races I’ve done. It doesn’t matter too much.”
