Ted Kravitz, the veteran F1 pitlane reporter, is amidst a bit of controversy ever since the US Grand Prix. Kravitz used the term “robbed” to describe the 2021 Abu Dhabi GP. The reporting saw Kravitz and Sky Sports being boycotted by Max Verstappen and Red Bull. Despite the boycott, Kravitz has the full support of his colleagues.

After his vocalizing his opinion of the 2021 season, Max Verstappen boycotted Sky Sports and Kravitz. His team followed suit and everyone made statements about the “constant kind of digging and being disrespectful” behavior. However, the British reporter has the full support of his colleagues, among other people.

Martin Brundle, another veteran journalist and Kravitz’s colleague for 26 years, communicated his support. He tweeted, “For the avoidance of doubt my friend and colleague for the past 26 years @tedkravitz has my full support.”

Brundle also suggested a solution to the rift between the two parties by the way of face-to-face dialogue. “Face-to-face dialogue is the only way to sort out issues and disputes in the relentless crucible of the F1 paddock. We all have opinions and different jobs to do, that’s life,” he added.

However, according to the Red Bull boss, the boycott will be over from the next race. The team and Verstappen showcased their anger and things will go back to normal from Brazilian Grand Prix.

However, as the dust settled, the British commentator revealed his words had been taken out of context.

The British commentator defended his words to a fellow commentator, Jack Plooij. Plooij, who reports for Dutch outlet Ziggo Sport, revealed his conversation with Kravitz.

He revealed, “He sent a WhatsApp to me, [saying]: ‘At no point have I ever said what Christian Horner, Jos [Verstappen], Raymond [Vermeulen, Verstappen’s manager] or anybody thinks I did and are apparently upset about.”
