Ferrari F1 Set for a Major Engine Upgrade for the Turkish Grand Prix

Ferrari had a disappointing home race at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. Charles Leclerc came fourth while Carlos Sainz took sixth place. However, the team hasn’t lost hope as a new power unit set to come in at the Turkish Grand Prix will give the car more horsepower.

McLaren had a spectacular weekend in Monza which sees them in third place in the constructor’s champion, while Ferrari has fallen down to fourth. The Italian team hopes the upcoming power unit set for the Turkish Grand Prix will give them the extra boost that they need.

After failing to make an impact at the Italian GP, where the team lost out on several crucial points for the championship. The Italian team hopes the upgrade will take place at Istanbul Park will help bridge the gap to their rivals in the championship race.

As reported by Auto Motor Und Sport, Ferrari will get an engine upgrade for the race in Turkey after the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi. It is said that the new power unit will give the drivers an extra 10-15 horsepower, and knowing the track is meant for overtaking, it will certainly benefit the team.

The Maranello-based outfit would have hoped that their home race would have panned out differently. Instead, they were beaten by their arch-rivals, McLaren, who are now ahead of them in the team standings.

But, Sainz and Leclerc haven’t given up, as, in a few days’ time, they will be zipping around Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix. They hope to score a good result this weekend, with the aim of stealing third place from McLaren in the standings.

However, the Woking-based outfit are optimistic about the upcoming race, as they scored a one-two finish in the last race weekend. But, know that Ferrari will throw everything at them to get ahead in the championship.
