Lando Norris Reveals Battling Troubles With 2020 McLaren F1 Car: ‘Wasn’t Optimised”

Lando Norris helped McLaren to their best season since 2012. Just in his third Formula 1, the McLaren driver shocked everyone by claiming his first podium last season. However, he could not make the most of his season as the momentum faded away.
The McLaren driver looks back at his 2020 season and explains how the car was not optimal for the Briton. How the car evolved through the season and hints at entering the 2021 season with more confidence.
“The way the car has evolved over the season, you had to drive it a little differently. That made it a little harder for me. It wasn’t optimized as much as I usually drive the car. Towards the end of the season we adjusted it more in my direction to give me more self-confidence.”

“I had the feeling that I could perform better again. I felt more confident and comfortable with my driving style, I worked well with my engineers. It all worked very well towards the end of the year,” Norris explained.

Lando Norris clarifies the main focus of the 2021 season
With just two years of Formula 1 experience, Lando Norris has a long way to go. He has shown his talent and the race craft skills that could help make him a star in the future. On similar lines, McLaren driver explains that the 2021 focus is to keep improving as a driver.
“I’m still giving everything and working as hard as possible to be a better driver and to move up the rankings, with every session. After my second season, I know even more exactly where I have to start in order to improve further,” he pointed out.
