Marko Reveals Lando Norris’ Response When They Offered Him a Red Bull F1 Drive

There is no doubt that McLaren’s Lando Norris will be a star in the future in Formula One. However, things could have been different for the Brit if he agreed to join another team on the grid.
Dr. Helmut Marko stated that Red Bull was linked to sign for Norris, but the Brit had a long-term deal with the Woking-based outfit. Additionally, it was Norris who told Marko & Co that he wants to be loyal to McLaren.

When fans think of Norris, they immediately think McLaren. However, that could have been different if the 21-year-old had put pen to paper with the Raging Bulls. There were talks to sign him, but Norris was adamant about staying with McLaren. While the Milton-Keynes-based squad went to bring in Max Verstappen.

Lando is making McLaren proud in 2021
The 21-year-old certainly brought his A-game to this year’s championship. Norris has helped the team bag crucial points for the constructor’s championship.
The McLaren driver has bagged four podiums so far this season; achieving his best result in Monza, where he placed second. Additionally, at the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi, this past race weekend, Norris took his first-ever pole position.
However, the 21-year-old couldn’t covert the pole position into a win, as he suffered a horrible heartbreak near the end of the race. Nevertheless, Lando aims to bounce back and redeem himself at the upcoming Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul.

Norris has faith in the Mercedes-powered car and hopes to bring more podiums and wins in the remaining races this year. As of now, McLaren finds themselves to be in third place in the team’s standings with 234 points and hopes to bag some more as the season progresses.
