The Knight was chasing down the Red Bull prodigy from start to finish. He came on the radio several times to ask his Mercedes colleagues about strategies and what to do to get the lead.
Speaking of this Wolff said, as quoted Formel1.de, “We are now in the ninth year together. You have to give the driver a valve. How did Hamilton’s race pan out at Zandvoort?
The 7-times world champion was starting the race in second place just behind his arch-rival, Max Verstappen. He was hoping to grab a win and twenty-five points to retain his lead in the title race.
However, it didn’t turn out to be that way as Verstappen saw the chequered flag from start to finish. Meanwhile, Lewis had to settle for second place, but will be happy that he stole the fastest lap from the Dutchman.
With the next race just in a week’s time at Monza for the Italian Grand Prix. Hamilton would hope to bounce back and grab another win for Mercedes this season.
