The Red Bull racing team has achieved a plethora in F1, despite having debuted only in 2005. Since then, they have won 5 WCCs and 6 WDCs. Also, In the past 2 years, the records have started to come at an amazing rate courtesy of Max Verstappen‘s rich vein of form. Even at the Canadian GP, this form carried on & Max got Red Bull their 100th win. Despite competition from Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen delivered the win on a platter. Helmut Marko is certainly quite ecstatic about this golden moment. Although he is still willing to destroy anyone who wishes to compete with Verstappen.

For Red Bull and Max Verstappen, there were 2 achievements to be completed. By taking victory in Montreal, Verstappen matched Ayrton Senna’s record of 41 victories in F1 besides the 100th win for Red Bull. In a recent interview, Marko commented on Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Mercedes gaining pace that could have hindered Max & Co.’s Montreal party. But he also said that it does not bother him. And his reason? He said, “We still have Max.”

Marko said, as quoted by ServusTV, “One time a bird flew into him. The bird did the car no good, but the radiator was fine. And one time he [Max] stubbornly went over the kerbs. Maybe he was looking at the TV screens, he often does that. But it’s incredible what kind of overview Max [Verstappen] has and what kind of overcapacity he has.”

Even though Red Bull has ‘Super Max’, Helmut Marko has acknowledged the threat from the other rivals, including Ferrari.

Helmut Marko is Cautious of Threat From Upgraded Rivals

Though Ferrari being a threat to Red Bull is ancient news, Helmut Marko believes that Ferrari can still be a menace to them. In Canada, Verstappen was far away from the rest of the grid. And after Lap 12, both Ferrari drivers maintained their positions in P4 and P5. But Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, in P6, could not get close to the Ferraris.

Marko said, in an interview with ServusTV, “The race was harder than we thought. But luckily Ferrari started further back, as they were fastest on both sets of tyres (the mediums and the hard tyres, ed.) According to Marko, maybe if Ferrari started somewhere in the Top 5, they could have threatened to make Red Bull wait for their 100th Win.
