Max Verstappen entered the world of Formula One as a teenager. The Dutch driver had immense potential that was witnessed after he won the Spanish Grand Prix back in 2016, making him the youngest driver ever to win a race.

Now five years later, the 24-year-old is fighting an intense battle for the championship against Lewis Hamilton. But, many wonder if he is still the same person he was a few years ago, or has the Red Bull prodigy changed? Team Principal, Chrisitan Horner reveals how Max has been the same throughout the years.

Horner reveals how Max Verstappen hasn’t changed a bit in Formula One

Many would assume that being one of the most talented drivers on the grid would change a driver’s personality. However, Max has not changed a bit ever since stepping on the grid five years ago, and Horner reveals what kind of personality Max really is.

Speaking on the podcast F1: Chequered Flag, Horner said, “He’s just a normal guy, you know and he is unaffected by what he is doing. And he loves what he is doing. He is fun to be around, he doesn’t seem to feel the pressure, and he just wants to do what 24-year-olds are doing. He wants to hang out with his friends.”

“He knows he is very lucky to do the job that he does. He has not become a diva in anyway, and anything like that. He really hasn’t changed a great deal since he arrived in the team as a teenager, you know five years ago,” the Red Bull boss explained.

Can Max win his first F1 title this year?

So far this season, the Dutch driver has pushed himself to the limit. Verstappen is locked in a heated battle with Lewis Hamilton. As it currently stands, Verstappen has 351.5 points, while Britain’s Knight has 343.5.

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is this weekend, and the difference between the two title contenders has shrunk to just eight points. The Red Bull prodigy is well aware that the final two races of the season will be extremely difficult. Hence, he will aim to keep Hamilton’s Mercedes in his rearview mirror.
