Max Verstappen Urges Red Bull Not to Repeat Their Costly Mistake Next Season

Max Verstappen dominated his way through to his second win of the season at Abu Dhabi. The Red Bull driver snatched the pole from Mercedes in his last lap on Saturday. On Sunday, he led every lap from the start and closed the season with an emphatic win.
Red Bull essentially did everything right this weekend; Verstappen claimed the 10th race win of his career. Mercedes wasn’t at their usual best, with Valtteri Bottas finishing at P2 and Hamilton being able to manage just a P3 finish after his comeback.
During the post-race press conference, Max talked about the impact of a strong start to the season and his focus going into 2021. He said, “We know we have to work hard over the winter to be better and stronger because you can’t just rely on this result.

“I hope we learn from the last few years, it’s not like we do it on purpose but yeah, we will definitely go into the winter with a good feeling. Yeah, good boost and yeah, I just hope that we learn from our mistakes – also at the beginning of this year (those) we made and hopefully build a better car to start next year.”

Max Verstappen won the race with a comfortable margin of 15.9 seconds from Valtteri Bottas. Red Bull’s pace seemed to be better than Mercedes all weekend, and Verstappen himself admitted that this was quite unexpected.
He said, “To be honest before I got here I didn’t expect to win the race and be on pole. Of course I also read that they had to turn the engines down a bit, so that’s not helping for them. In general I think still the car performed very strong and better than expected, so of course very happy with that.
