Many are celebrating Max Verstappen breaking the consecutive race win record with his tenth win in Monza. The immediate question that comes up is how far the Dutchman will extend the record. For now, he looks untouchable and unstoppable thanks to his superior Red Bull machinery and incredible racecraft. However, there will come a race weekend when Verstappen will not stand on the top step of the podium which will end his winning streak. According to Lando Norris, that time has come as the McLaren man issued a threat to Verstappen and Co.
Norris quickly became the talk of the F1 town with his heroics in the British GP. After giving a scare to Verstappen, the Brit came on Helmut Marko’s radar as a potential option for the Red Bull second seat. However, Norris has pledged his loyalty to McLaren on many occasions and continues to do so. In fact, taking it up a notch, as quoted on Twitter (now X), Norris issued a warning to Verstappen.
He said, “If there’s any time to believe we’re getting close to winning races, it’s now!”

The McLaren man is possibly trying to reverse the poaching efforts by threatening Red Bull’s star man. After all, someone is needed to end Verstappen’s reign or else he will end up winning all the remaining races in the current campaign & head into 2024 on another level, unchallenged & invincible!
An incredible feat for him personally and Red Bull, but a worrying scenario for the world of F1. However, to not jinx this possible outcome of the 2023 season, Red Bull’s Christian Horner downplayed this 100% record for the team.

It’s hard to imagine as no team in the sport’s history has won a championship with a 100% record. However, Red Bull is well on course to achieving the impossible and staying invincible throughout the season. With the current form of Verstappen doing all the heavy lifting, there is plenty of hope for this scenario to come to life. Still, managing expectations and refusing to get carried away after the Italian GP, Horner made a humble confession about the team’s chances of achieving the impossible.
“One day we will be defeated, That is inevitable and a certainty. The only question is when this will happen. Of course, we want to postpone this moment as long as possible. With each passing weekend, this great streak is expected to continue for some time to come,” said Horner.
