After Carlos Sainz joined McLaren in 2019, for him, it was a considerable upgrade from Renault. Despite being the 4th quickest team on the grid, he was still very far from the Top 3. He might not have made a lot of good memories on the racetrack. But off it, he made a friendship for life with Lando Norris – A bromance, if you will. And they are still best friends with their most recent gesture getting their fans emotional.

During his stint with McLaren, Sainz made a strong bond with his then-teammate, Norris. Fans loved it so much that they gave the pair a couple-nickname: ‘Carlando’. Now, they both race for different teams. This year, Sainz, with Ferrari, has scored 83 points. And Norris, with McLaren, has scored 42. But when asked about who’d have a better 2nd half of the season, their perfect answers won fans over.

Norris is known to love to drink milk, and Sainz has been nicknamed ‘Chilli’ by his friends. So, when Sky Sports did a poll for the fans, asking them to give their vote on who’ll have the better second half of the season, they just used the emojis for Milk and Chilli to refer to the two drivers. They captioned the post, “🥛 or 🌶️. Who will have the better second half of the season?”. And both the drivers too chipped in with their votes. But instead of backing themselves, Norris commented “🌶️”, and Sainz “🥛”.

The Spaniard and the Briton had a very strong relationship as teammates. And even after ‘Chilli’ parted ways with McLaren at the end of 2020 to join Ferrari, their bromance continued.
