Norris Shrugs Off ‘Lovely’ F1 Qualifying Session as Deja-Vu Strikes for McLaren Teammate Ricciardo

The Saturday qualification for the Bahrain Grand Prix is over and McLaren had a disappointing night. The British constructor couldn’t make their way past through the Q2.
The Woking base had high hopes this season, but all those hopes were crushed down in the qualification. McLaren has been struggling with the 2022 challenger since the pre-season testing. It seems the issues with the car didn’t resolve and which resulted in the poor results in Bahrain qualifiers this season.

Lando Norris, the prodigy is undoubtedly one of the best young talents on the grid. He finished P7 in qualifying last season in Bahrain. But this year the young Englishman couldn’t even make his way through the Q2, finishing at P13.
After his elimination in the Q2, the young man asks his team whether he finished P12, to which his team responds P13. The poor results disappointed the young McLaren driver. Norris expresses on the team radio, “Oh Lovely! Alright, what worse can we do?”
Daniel Ricciardo still struggling in McLaren
The Honey Badger is 32 and doesn’t have many seasons ahead. In hopes of winning a world championship, the Australian joined McLaren. But the decision hasn’t been able to match his expectations. Instead of shining in the Orange outfit, Ricciardo is just struggling in the Woking base.
Ricciardo had a poor 2021 season. He was having difficulties adapting to the McLaren car. The Honey Badger thought that the 2022 season would be the year of his success with McLaren. But it turned out that he still has problems with the team.

Daniel failed to shine at the Barcelona pre-season testing and then he had to miss the Bahrain testing due to illness. But the Aussie returned to the paddock for the Bahrain GP. But had to be on the sidelines on the Friday testing because of a water leak in his MCL36. He did eventually get to drive his 2022 challenger, but the FP3 performance wasn’t impressive.

Lando is eliminated in Q2. The focus switches to putting it right tomorrow.

The worst moment for Ricciardo was not even making his way through the Bahrain Q3 and finishing P18. Further, both the McLaren drivers are having under-steer problems with the MCL36.
