The way things have been working in the favor of Red Bull’s Dutch Lion this season, a lot of teams have been taking notice of his constant win graph in the F1 world. According to sources, there have been speculations about Mercedes boss man, Toto Wolff, approaching the Red Bull Lion post the Mexican Grand Prix.

Paddock sources suggest that Mercedes man, Toto Wolff, was in dialogue with Max Verstappen and Father Verstappen in the paddock earlier. Even though the conversation remains private, speculations suggest it was an attempt to pursue Max Verstappen.

Toto Wolff has been confident about the seven-time champ sticking with Silver Arrows for years to come. However, with the Britons contract coming to an end in 2023, whispers making the rounds speculate the German team wants a top driver to fill in Lewis’ shoes if he were to decide to move away from the grid.

Max, on the other hand, has been signed onto Red Bull for six more years. The Dutch Lion holds no intention of moving on from the home team. In an interview, he said, “I’m not planning on changing teams. I’m happy here and they are happy with me. But I haven’t made up my mind what I will do after 2028.” 

Red Bull also admitted that there is a performance clause in Max’s contract with the team.

According to the Former F1 world champion, Mika Hakkinen suggested that it was normal for champions to move on. He states that if they aren’t provided with the right car, that holds them back, they are likely to move on to something better.

He explained, “I don’t think Max is going to stay with Red Bull for the rest of his career. But this is just my opinion.”
